I really enjoyed this thoughtful and articulate conversation . Wonderful and nuanced discernment. Inspired by Trina , I have been teaching some yoga asanas using resistance bands. This is a wonderful way to increase strength, proprioception and more. Laura I think you do this too. I am post menopausal . My asana practice has changed over the years. As a long time advocate for healthy aging, In fact with a specialty in gerontology since my 20s, I am attuned to subtle ageism and ageist language. I would with love to Sarah whom I’ve connected with and have worked with over the years, I suggest that “feeble” is not synonymous with old, old is not bad, and a slower less acrobatic asana practice is not only for “ladies of a certain age”. 🙏🏼❤️
Hi Bonnie, Thanks for listening and we’re so glad you liked it! I hope it was clear that my calling my practice “feeble old lady yoga” was through the lens of my 20 year old self, and not remotely what I really think of it. I agree wholeheartedly that a slower, less acrobatic practice is actually much harder and more sophisticated than the super acrobatic stuff I used to get up to.
Thanks for your blog, nice to read. Do not stop.
